Geyser Rock

Our shark diving adventures start in Cape Town, from where we will be heading towards Geyser Rock, a small island situated between Dyer Island and an underwater channel also known as "Shark Alley”. The small Island Geyser Rock (also called Geyer Island) is home to more than 50.000 seals. The bigger island "Dyer Island” on the other hand serves more as a bird sanctuary, populated by over more than 5.000 penguins. Both islands are under conservation and are not open to the public.

Geyser Rock – Island of shark territory – Cape Town Cage Diving

White Shark Cage Diving Gansbaai

You can book shark trips all year round. During the winter months, however, there are especially large numbers of sharks between the two islands as seals give birth to their cubs in winter – easy prey for the Great Whites.

During South Africa’s winter season you also have the fantastic opportunity to do whale watching in and around Hermanus when calves are born in our coastal areas.
The following video shows some amazing footage of Geyser Rock:

Gansbaai’s focus lies entirely on the Great White Shark, offering daily shark tours combined with shark cage diving to Dyer Island and the "Shark Alley” underwater channel directly from the harbour.

Geyser Rock MapCage diving will offer you the great opportunity to meet the ocean’s largest predatory fish up close. As soon as we reach the shark territory, the thrilling adventure begins. The sharks will be lured to the boat using a fish head as bait, and after approximately 5 minutes the first Great Whites will appear. At this point it will be your turn to climb into the cage and indulge in amazing underwater photography.

After approximately 3 to 4 hours (depending on the weather) we will be arriving back at the harbour where you can sit back, relax and enjoy a tasty meal. Should you not be satisfied with your own photos and videos, you will have the option to purchase a DVD of your shark adventure at the end of the tour.
After your shark adventure we are more than happy to arrange for a Big 5 Safari that is not to be missed. Nowhere else in the world do you have the opportunity to experience a Big 6 or Big 7 Safari but in Cape Town South Africa. Here you will also have the option to book tours by making use of either your own transport or our shuttle service collecting you from your holiday accommodation.
We look forward to hearing from you
