Own Transport
Gansbaai shark tours can either be booked
by making use of our shuttle service, or with the option of utilising your own
transport. The fishing village of Gansbaai, near the whale capital Hermanus, is
located along the Atlantic Coast of South Africa which is approximately a two
hour drive from Cape Town. Making use of your own transport will provide you
with the opportunity of whale watching in Hermanus after your boat tour. Please
note that whale season is from June until November. We will gladly assist in
compiling a travel package best suited to your needs, including, for example,
rental car etc.
Shark Tours from Cape Town – Own Transport - Gansbaai
We also offer diving tours over a 2 to 3
day period, including overnight accommodation. Our carefully selected
accommodation venues often consist of family operated guest houses or hotels,
specialised in diving orientated environments. It is here that divers from all
over the world gather in the evenings to share their South African diving
experiences from the day’s adventure.

of events
Upon booking you will receive all necessary
trip information as well as directions to Gansbaai. The night before your shark
cage tour, you will receive a message, confirming whether or not optimal
weather conditions are predicted for the following day. It usually takes about
2 hours from Cape Town to Gansbaai. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a
warm welcome, followed by a standard safety briefing. After breakfast we will
proceed to the shark boats and expect to drop anchor at our approximated dive
spot after about one and a half hour’s journey. The steel cage will be lowered
into the water and your shark cage diving adventure can begin. Depending on the
weather, we will return to the harbour after about four to five hours. Once on
land you can sit back and enjoy a complimentary lunch. A DVD disk of your dive
will be available for purchase at the end of the tour.
When making use of your own transport, it
is an absolute must that you visit Hermanus on your way back, especially during
the months of June to end November, where you will have the once in a lifetime
opportunity of up close and personal whale sightings!
