Directions
If you have
booked a Cape Town shark tour with us in South Africa, we would like to provide
you with directions here so that you are able to find us in Gansbaai on the
Atlantic coast of the Overberg region in South Africa. The drive is relatively
simple and you should be able to reach us in around 2 hours when coming from
Cape Town.
Directions - Cape Town Shark Tour in South Africa
Take the N2
highway from Cape Town towards the airport and Somerset West. Cross Sir Lowry
Pass and Houwhoek Pass and then take the exit to Hermanus (R43) on the left
side.
At this
point you will drive through Hermanus and continue towards Stanford. After
Stanford, continue for about 20 km until you reach the village centre of
Gansbaai. Towards the end of the main road you will see a road sign which reads
'White Shark Diving' '. Turn right here and follow the road towards the harbour
and sea.
Once you
arrive at the seaside, the street makes a small bend and on the right you will
see a two-storey building with a shark. There should be more than enough
parking spaces available behind or in front of the building. Our reception is
on the first floor, where our shark team will await your arrival. Here you can
recover from your journey and enjoy a breakfast.
- The exact address
is: 9 Kusweg, Kleinbaai Harbour, Gansbaai.
Directions from the Garden Route
Should you
wish to make a trip from the Garden Route to our shark diving base, you will be
coming from the George direction and taking the N2 highway towards Cape Town.
Shortly
after the town Riviersonderend, you will find a road sign with the description
Rietpoet / Stanford / R 326 on the left hand side. Turn left here towards
Stanford and follow the road signs until you reach Gansbaai.
Once you
arrive in Gansbaai, proceed through the village and at the end of the main road
you will see a sign with the name ''White shark cage diving ''. Follow the road
towards the sea and harbour. Once you are at the seaside, the road makes a
small bend and shortly thereafter on the right hand side you will see a
two-storey building with a large shark.
There is parking available in the front
or rear of the property. Be sure to use the main entrance where you will see a
small shop on the left side and behind this a staircase leading to our reception
office on the first floor. Our shark team will welcome you and have a breakfast
waiting and once you have eaten, our staff will brief you on all necessarysafety instructions.
- The exact
address of the office is: 9 Kusweg, Kleinbaai Harbour, Gansbaai.
Our tip for all those using their own
transport:
Those who
have booked a tour and opted to use their own transport still have the
opportunity of visiting Hermanus after the shark tour. The trip is especially worthwhile
in winter and with a stroke of luck you may even still get to do some whale
watching.
Hemel en Aarde wine route
If you have
booked a morning tour we would highly recommend driving through the Hemel en
Aarde wine region on your way back to Cape Town. Directly at the exit from
Hermanus, turn right and eventually you will reach Caledon and from there the
N2 highway, which will take you to back Cape Town.
